Feingold Is Adament on Censure

Censure, my ass.

How about impeachment and trials for war crimes?

Spooner Advocate - Spooner, Wisconsin:

Democrat Wisconsin U.S. Senator Russ Feingold was adamant, during a listening session held Monday afternoon in Spooner, that President George Bush should be officially censured for historical purposes for authorizing, what he called, “illegal wiretaps.”

Feingold had sponsored a bill in spring 2006 to censure the President for authorizing wiretaps of those suspected of receiving calls from overseas terrorists. Feingold’s bill died with very little support, notably from his own party.

In Spooner, Feingold made the comments on censuring the President when asked about the Supreme Court decision giving legal status to detainees at the U.S. Naval base in Guantanamo, Cuba, persons the Administration claimed did not deserve protection under the Geneva Convention.
