Bush plan will send children to war

No, not 18 year old kids. We are talking Jr. High Grads....

How many of these boy and girl warriors do you think will come from the upper socio-economic strarta?

This is worse that Vietnam, when there actually was a draft!

So far they have lowered the standards just about as low as they can get, without emptying the prisons and insane asylums. They are talking drud addicts, gang members and all kinds of militia type hate groups.

(remind me again, why we want our troops home?)

No, seriously, American tax dollars are going to train gang members and militia members to fight serious, urban warfare.

Now, Bush is planning a call up that will include, what...13 year olds, 14 year olds?

Is it time, yet? You know, the men in the little white coats?

Actually, this makes sense in a horrible twisted sort of way. If this war is going to rage on for 50 years, why not train soldiers at very young ages? Maybe you can even train them to be as vicious, heartless and cold-blooded as other child soldiers, in other armies. Natural born killers. eh?

Expanding the military, without a draft - Los Angeles Times:

WASHINGTON — President Bush's call to build up the size of the Army and Marine Corps confronts the U.S. military with a sizable and potentially costly challenge, especially given its recent history of war-related recruiting problems. But one solution remains firmly off the table: reinstituting a draft.

Bush last week endorsed proposals to increase the size of the two services. The proposals have wide support, from those who advocate a short-term boost in the number of troops in Iraq as well as those who say a larger overall force will be needed even if troops are moved out of Iraq.
