Fighting CCW Secrecy Bills in Kansas and Florida

We post this simply because the NRA can get a litle crazy; wait, make that damned insane.

But we are not, however as opposed to the 2nd amenedment as some of our more liberal friends.

When the 1st amendment is being mauled and shredded, the 2nd one may well come in handy.

Gun Guys Fighting CCW Secrecy Bills in Kansas and Florida:

In Florida or Kansas, the gun secrecy bill is bad news.

-The Orlando Sentinel has posted an editorial asking for a veto by Governor Jeb Bush of the NRA's gun secrecy bill, that would hide the names of concealed carry permitholders from the public.

Lawmakers should have rejected that bill during their recently completed session. Instead, they bowed to pressure from the National Rifle Association.

Mr. Bush's veto is needed because there's no valid reason to exempt concealed-weapons license records from the state's open-records law.

Government has the authority to issue licenses for a wide range of activities, from driving to carrying a concealed weapon on the street. Under the open-records law, the public has a right to know who received those licenses. People packing guns don't deserve a special break."
