Feiingold: Democrats need to stand up for themselves

Amen.

If the Democrats can't even stand up for themselves, how can the possibly stand for the interests of the rest of us.

DesMoinesRegister.com:

"Iowa City, Ia. : Democrats need to stand up for themselves and their country if they expect to win congressional elections, U.S. Sen. Russell Feingold said here Friday.

'We're not going to win in 2006 by default. We're not going to win in 2006 by running out the clock,' he said.

The Wisconsin Democrat, considered a potential presidential candidate, said Republicans have learned how to keep their critics cowed.

'At the right moment, just when the Democrats start feeling their oats, they say something about 'The Democrats don't support the troops' or 'They're not patriotic,' and all of a sudden the Democrats go back in their foxholes.'"
