US court acquits anti-war grannies - Yahoo! News:

"NEW YORK (AFP) - A New York judge acquitted 18 grandmothers of disorderly conduct charges, brought after they blocked a military recruiting office in Times Square as a protest against the Iraq war.

The courtroom burst into cheers and applause as Judge Neil Ross delivered his verdict that the prosecution had failed to prove its case against the 18-member 'Granny Peace Brigade,' whose ages range from 50 to 91.

The elderly activists were arrested in October and charged on two counts -- blocking the recruiting station door and refusing to comply with a police order."
