Bush Back down to 33% Approval


I would say that unless the GOP has major election theft plans, they are in very deep do-do

The most interesting part of this poll is this:

More sobering for the GOP are the number of voters who backed Bush in 2004 who are ready to vote Democratic in the fall’s congressional elections - 19 percent. These one-time Bush voters are more likely to be female, self-described moderates, low- to middle-income and from the Northeast and Midwest.

Two years after giving the Republican president another term, more than half of these voters - 57 percent - disapprove of the job Bush is doing.

Bush wants to 'stay the course' while America wants to change the course - both in Iraq and at home. True the talking heads will quickly dismiss this by saying 'look at how much money he brings in on the campaign trail'. Just remember this - people still paid to see Nixon even after he resigned in disgrace.
